type poster

Final Type Poster

the core of this project is to perfect a visual dialogue between structured and unstructured typographic elements within a frame – composing ideal relationships between type as image and type as information/text

in these relationships type as image takes priority in the hierarchy – responsible for imparting information to the viewer and posing a question to be answered by the type as information/text

your concept provides additional imagery and an opportunity to enhance and unify the  information while engaging the viewer

the overall design of the poster must attract and inform the viewer and project a personal approach without interfering with content and readability clearly define the space and navigate the viewer through the information using hierarchy within text, within images, and within text/image relationships

type as image

there must be an image to support each definition, you may make use of a single letter form to support more than one definition, clearly highlight the part of the type being defined, rely on shifts in size, color and character to establish a dynamic image hierarchy

type as information

the definitions must be recognized as a unified voice, a voice quietly informing you, and not competing with, or read before, the images - select your typeface, weight, size, and leading so that it's color recedes in the composition

typographic elements can be useful in linking  definitions to image and when carefully considered add character to the overall design while showing off your finer type skills
